growing tastebuds

Although he's not eating table food three times a day quite yet, Grant is definitely expanding his food horizons. So far his line-up includes pureed acorn squash, green beans, zucchini, carrots, and his personal favorite- sweet potatoes. A boy after his mother's own heart:) He also enjoys a fair share of pureed fruits. We've also started letting him explore with cut up avocado, mandarin orange pieces, cheerios, and recently Puffs, which are like a cereal for babies that dissolves super fast in their mouth. He's progressing from not being able to pick up any of these items, to picking them up in the palm of his hand but not able to get them in his mouth, to putting much of his hand in his mouth to get that tiny piece of food in there as well:) Grant is also quite interested in all food and drink he sees us consuming. Recently we let him explore with a slice of an apple. He really enjoyed gumming it and tasting it's flavor, as well as using the top of his little budding tooth to cut small bits of the apple off. He's also discovered another item to gnaw on, though this one was without our prompting. I guess this will motivate me to keep every part of the house as clean as possible. I don't even want to think about what made it into his little mouth.
